LEMONT, Ill. (AP) Matt Kuchar is playing so well that there's really nothing left for him to say.

He didn't have much choice on Thursday. Kuchar has laryngitis and begged off a series of interviews, letting his 7-under 64 in the BMW Championship speak for itself.

Already a winner in the opening FedEx Cup playoff event, Kuchar wasted no time putting his name atop the leaderboard again. With a laser shot into 10 feet for eagle on the 15th and an 18-foot birdie putt on his last hole at the par-5 ninth, Kuchar had a one-shot lead over Ryan Moore among those who played in calm, morning conditions.
